Route 1 Peabody Overnight Construction Resumes Sunday Night
The repaving work between the Saugus/Lynnfield town line and Forest Street in Peabody will require lane closures from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
PEABODY, MA — Overnight road work on Route 1 northbound and southbound from Lynnfield to Peabody will begin Sunday night and continue weekly until the work is complete.
The state Department of Transportation said the road work will begin at the Lynnfield/Saugus line and run through Forest Street in Peabody.
Road work will take place Sunday through Thursday nights with occasional Friday work as needed.

There will be temporary lane closures necessary to allow crews to safely and efficiently conduct construction, milling and repaving work, along with selective sidewalk and accessible ramp construction, drainage structure improvements, guardrail improvements, miscellaneous bridge repairs, and pavement markings.
At least one travel lane will remain open in both directions while the work is being performed.

Signs, traffic control devices and temporary detours will be used to guide drivers through work areas.
Drivers are encouraged to reduce speeds and use caution while approaching and traveling through the work zone.
