Salem 400+ Launch Party To Include Free Food, Ice Sculptures, Fire Pits, Games
The event will include the unveiling of the official Salem 400+ black cat mascot's name.

SALEM, MA — A launch party to kick off the yearlong Salem 400+ anniversary celebration will include a day of free food and beverages, ice mosaics, fire pits and family-friendly activities at Salem High School on Saturday.
The event will also feature more than 60 community organizations where residents can connect with services and learn more about volunteer opportunities.
The official Salem 400+ black cat mascot's winning name selection will be announced as well.

The free event is set for Friday from 2 to 5 p.m. at Salem High School.
"This is how we launch a historic year — together," Salem Mayor Dominick Pangallo said. "The Salem 400+ Launch Party brings our entire community together to celebrate our past, present, and future in a way that's accessible, fun, and meaningful for everyone."

Salem High School's CTE Culinary Arts students will prepare and serve free food inspired by the city's rich culinary heritage. The menu highlights the skills and creativity of local students while celebrating Salem's 400-year journey.
There will be plenty of supervised children's activities, allowing parents and guardians to explore the attractions and volunteer fair.
The launch party also features a silent auction with local treasures and unique experiences. All proceeds from the auction will support Salem 400+ programming throughout the year.
