Salem Artoberfest Exhibit Opens On Derby Street Starting This Weekend
The annual gallery from the Salem Arts Association will run from Sept. 16 through Nov. 11.

SALEM, MA — The annual Salem Arts Association exhibition Artoberfest will open at the Derby Street studio this weekend with a reception open to the public on Friday and a two-month gallery showing to follow.
The annual exhibit explores Salem's history with autumn, Halloween, witchcraft, the occult and the spirit of the season.
The opening reception, which is free to the public, runs Friday from 6 to 8 p.m.

The full exhibition is open each Saturday and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m. from Sept. 16 through Nov. 11 and is part of the city's annual Artoberfest Art and Music Festival on Sept. 30 at the Salem Maritime National Historic Site.
Jenova 7 along with Laurel Driskill will be performing original music at the Artoberfest reception.
Jenova 7 is nom de plume of Michael J. Sirois. His genres include trip-hop, downtempo & chillout. He was featured on DJ MarkFarina's Mushroom Jazz 8.

He is influenced by pioneering trip-hop artists of the early 90s such as DJ Shadow, DJ Krush, DJ Cam and Portishead. He is a member of the trip-hop trio Wax Triptych (with Mononome and Mr. Moods).
Creative Collective founder and managing director John Andrews served as this year's guest juror.
The Peabody Essex Museum and Pampelmousse Salem are sponsoring this year's exhibition.
