Salem Arts Festival Returns to Downtown Salem

On Saturday, June 4, the 2022 Salem Arts Festival was in full swing.

Salem, MA. – This weekend the Salem Arts Festival is taking place in downtown Salem. Due to the pandemic, this event is the first live event since 2019. “Art will heal us and help us recover from the challenges we have and continue to face” (salemartsfestival.com) makes for a bold statement at a time when world events have eclipsed the importance of local art.

On Saturday, June 4, 2022, the event was in full swing. Late spring sun mixed with ocean air as people came out to see the festival. Restaurant patios were busy, and vendors offered their items from colorful tents and tables. Overall, the event wasn’t as large as previous years, but the attendees made up for it with enthusiasm.

The festival offered a busy schedule of musical and dance events. From interpretive dance to acrobats, folk music to rock, live music and interpretive dance kept the festive atmosphere going.

The Salem Arts Festival continues through the weekend, downtown near Artists Row, Derby Square, and the Essex Street mall.
