Salem To Destroy Special Education Records Of Former Students
Parents, guardians or former students can obtain their records ahead of the Nov. 29.
SALEM, MA — Salem Public Schools will destroy the special education records of former students who received those services on or before June 30, 2018, in accordance with state Department of Elementary and Secondary Education regulations.
School districts are required to destroy these records after seven years following the conclusion of Special Education services.
Any parent/guardian or eligible student can obtain their student's special education record before it is destroyed.

To arrange to pick up records, contact the Special Education Department at 978-740-1249.
All unclaimed student records meeting the above criteria will be destroyed after the Nov. 29 deadline date.
