Salem Draft CDBG/HOME Action Plan Available For Review
A 14-day comment period on the plan will begin on Thursday, June 22.

SALEM, MA – Salem Mayor Kim Driscoll announced the City of Salem’s Draft Action Plan for Fiscal Year 2018 (July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2018) is now available to the public.
The plan outlines priority activities for anticipated Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Home Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) funding. This funding, provided through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), assists income-eligible households and low- to moderate-income neighborhoods through a variety of programs, services and improvements. The draft plan translates into action the goals and strategies established in the 5-Year Consolidated Plan, which was completed following an extensive public participation process in 2015, and considers comments received at an initial public hearing held on Jan. 19, 2017.
"CDBG and HOME funds allow Salem to undertake numerous community and economic development activities that improve our neighborhoods and provide important programs for residents," said Mayor Driscoll. "They fund a wide range of activities that develop and maintain affordable housing, improve neighborhood facilities, provide economic opportunities, improve access for those with disabilities, offer critical social service programs, and assist people who are homeless or on the verge of homelessness."
