Salem Fatal, Severe Crash History Spurs Safety Action Plan
Input is sought in the development of a plan after the city reported 39 fatal or severe crashes from 2019 through 2023.
SALEM, MA — More than three dozen fatal or severe traffic crashes in four years across Salem are spurring officials to develop a Safety Action Plan to guide future safety investments in the city.
The plan, funded by a Safe Streets and Roads for All planning grant, will identify priority locations for improvements and make recommendations for infrastructure, policy and other improvements as part of the city's capital plan.
Once the plan is completed, the City will be eligible for additional funding to implement recommendations.
