Salem Hospital Named 'High Performing' In Best Hospital Rankings
The U.S. News & World Report's annual Best Hospital rankings gave Salem Hospital the highest designation in nine specialties.

SALEM, MA — The U.S. News & World Report's annual Best Hospital rankings gave high marks to Salem Hospital as "High Performing" in the treatment of nine specialties and placed it among the top 10 hospitals in the state overall.
The hospital was also ranked No. 6 overall in the Boston Metro Area and tied for No. 10 in Massachusetts.
"To be recognized once again by U.S. News & World Report is a proud accomplishment for all of us at Salem Hospital," Salem Hospital President and CEO Roxanne Ruppel said. "This achievement reflects the dedication and expertise of our outstanding physicians, nurses, and staff, who work diligently across multiple specialties to deliver high-quality, compassionate care to our patients.

U.S. News evaluated more than 4,500 hospitals across 15 specialties and 21 procedures and conditions — only 12 percent of evaluated hospitals earned a "Best Hospitals" ranking. Hospitals awarded a "Best" designation excelled at factors such as clinical outcomes, level of nursing care and patient experience.

Two hospitals from Massachusetts made the "honor roll" alongside institutions like Johns Hopkins, the Cleveland Clinic and the Mayo Clinic: Mass General and Brigham and Women's, both in Boston.
