Salem Mother Running 2021 Boston Marathon For Her Patient Partner
Jenna Hamlin said she has some "unfinished business" to complete when she runs 26.2 miles from Hopkinton to Boston on Monday.

SALEM, MA —A lot has changed for Jenna Hamlin in the 18 months since she was set to run the Boston Marathon for Mass. General Hospital's pediatric and research team.
The Salem resident and Mass. General radiology employee has gone from being a new mother to a mother of two after having her second child in March. Her little "patient partner" who was less than a year old and fighting cancer when the 2020 race was called off because of the coronavirus crisis is now 2.
On Monday, Hamlin plans to keep a promise to that little patient partner as she completes some "unfinished business" at the 125th Boston Marathon and gives her patient partner her finisher's medal.

"My two-and-half-year-old and seven-month-old, along with my little patient partner will hopefully be able to see me cross that finish line doing something that I love and supporting an amazing cause while doing so," Hamlin told Patch this week.
"The pediatric patients that I get to work with are some of the toughest little warriors you could ever meet," she said on her fundraising page. "Funding from the MGH marathon team helps our tiniest patients get access to resources that unfortunately otherwise wouldn't be available — clinical trials for children, music and art therapy, housing for family members during treatments, emotional support for family members and siblings."
