Salem Police Make 17 Weekend Arrests

The following information was submitted by the Salem Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.


The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police Department's log: 

Friday, June 6:

  • At 4:24 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Watson Street.
  • At 5:19 p.m., police made an arrest on Harbor Street. Victor G. Oyola-Cruz, 42, of 41 Ward St., Salem, was arrested on a charge of drinking an alcoholic beverage in public.
  • At 6:51 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Orne Street.
  • At 7:56 p.m., police responded to a report of a drunk man near the intersection of Derby and Central streets. Christopher Jordan, 28, of 100 Willow St., Lynn, was arrested on charges of illegally possessing a class A substance (heroin) and illegally possessing a class B substance (Suboxone).
  • At 9:14 p.m., police stopped a scooter near the intersection of Salem and Dow streets. Juanel Pena-Santana, 26, of 10 Cherry St., Salem, was arrested on charges of illegally possessing a class B substance (cocaine), operating a motorized bicycle on a public way and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
  • At 10:36 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Lafayette Street. Paul B. Marchand, 59, of 214 Lafayette St., Salem, was arrested on a charge of domestic assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Saturday, June 7:

  • At 1:18 a.m., police responded to a report of disorderly conduct on Palmer Street. Andrison R. Perez-Brea, 18, of 5 Palmer St., Salem, was arrested on a charge of disturbing the peace and being a minor in possession of alcohol.
  • At 1:36 a.m., police responded to a report of disorderly conduct near the intersection of Palmer and Park streets. Cesar Y. Pimentel Jr., 24, of 653 Western Ave., Lynn, was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. Miguel A. Rivera, 19, of 176 Federal St., Salem, was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. 
  • At 5:58 a.m., police made an arrest on Valiant Way. Nancy Pierce, 55, of 23 Valiant Way, Salem, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
  • At 3:28 p.m., police responded to a report of a large fight on Barnes Road.
  • At 4:39 p.m., police responded to a report of a homeless came on Barnes Road.
  • At 5:12 p.m., police stopped a man on a scooter near the intersection of Salem and Palmer streets. Luis J. Suarez, 19, of 501 Washington St., Lynn, was arrested on charges of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and operating a motorized bike on a public way.
  • At 5:26 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Endicott Street.
  • At 6:08 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Bryant Street.
  • At 6:31 p.m., police responded to a report of two marijuana plants growing on Lafayette Street. The plants were seized by police for destruction.
  • At 7:13 p.m., police responded to a road rage incident near the intersection of Canal Street and Loring Avenue.
  • At 8:41 p.m., police responded to a report of a suspicious motor vehicle on Bryant Street. Flor J. Ortiz, 42, of 28 Locust St., Lynn, was arrested on a charge of illegally possessing a class B substance (Oxycontin) with intent to distribute, subsequent offense.
  • At 9:35 p.m., police responded to a fireworks complaint on Leach Street.
  • At 10:54 p.m., police responded to a noise complaint on Boston Street.

Sunday, June 8

  • At 12:39 a.m., police made an arrest on Lafayette Street. Anthony R. Barrasso, 29, of 18 Blaisdell Ave., Haverhill, was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. James D. Leal, 35, of 146 Summer St., Medford, was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct. Mia R. Cowper, 23, of 18 Samoset Road, Peabody, was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
  • At 12:59 a.m., police responded to a noise complaint on Aborn Street. James A. Getchell, 24, of 14 Aborn St., Salem, was arrested on a charge of disturbing the peace.

Other Arrests

Justin P. Day, 31, of 10 Carnes St., Lynn, was arrested on a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.

Waldecy F. Sobrinho, 43, of 32 Cooper St., Lynn, was arrested on a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, subsequent offense.

Donna W. Suggs, 48, of 26 Home St., Beverly, was arrested on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.
