SALEM, MA – A Salem Police officer was honored last week for her determination after a serious injury as a new officer.

According to a post from the Salem Police, Officer Jessica Rondinelli was given the Spirit of Massachusetts Association of Women in Law Enforcement (MAWLE) 2017 Courage Award last week at Stonehill College. Rondinelli received the award for returning to work quickly after a serious injury on the job while she was still in the Field Training Program.

"Her commitment and determination did not let this incident define her or interfere with her career in law enforcement and she continues providing public safety for the Salem community," said the post.
