Salem Route 107 Redesign Proposal Public Meeting Planned
The state Department of Transportation will host the virtual public forum on the Bridge Street repairs on Nov. 7 at 6:30 p.m.

SALEM, MA — A proposed redesign of Route 107 in Salem set to include a shared-use path, full bicycle and pedestrian accommodations and a mini-roundabout at the intersection with the North Street ramp will be the subject of a virtual public forum on Thursday.
The state Department of Transportation will host the meeting on its website at 6:30 p.m. with the goal of providing the public the chance to learn more about the proposed changes to Bridge Street extending from its intersection with Flint Street to about 150 feet west of the Washington Street intersection.
The redesign includes the shared-use path on the northerly side of Bridge Street with full pedestrian and bicycle accommodations on the south side.

The project is also designed to improve Bridge Street's resiliency to flooding by providing a new roadway drainage system. Other work, such as street lighting, landscaping, and streetscape elements that complement the area's historic character will be added.
MassDOT said the views and comments submitted in response to the meeting will be reviewed and considered to the maximum extent in the project possible.
