Salem State Bomb Squad Response After Construction Site Discovery
A university spokesperson said an undetonated blasting cap was found at a construction site on campus on Thursday.
SALEM, MA — Salem State University officials enacted emergency response protocols at a construction site on campus on Thursday after an undetonated blasting cap was found during blasting work.
A university spokesperson told Patch that work was stopped right away upon the discovery and the emergency protocols were followed.
Those included a crew from Maine Drilling and Blasting called to the scene.

"They were able to clear the scene, as the situation was stable and there were no ongoing safety concerns," the SSU spokesperson said.
