Salem State To Host First Boston Bruins Alumni Game

The events will raise funds for the Salem State Viking intercollegiate athletics program.

SALEM, MA — North Shore residents are invited to watch Boston Bruins alumni take on Salem State University alumni hockey players at an exhibition game to benefit Viking athletic programs.

The game will take place on Feb. 22 at the O'Keefe Sports Complex from 2 to 5 p.m.

This is the first time Salem State has hosted a Bruins alumni game.

"This event is about more than just hockey," said Mike Mitchell, director of engagement at Salem State. "It's an opportunity to bring families, alumni and community members together on campus in a way that feels meaningful and fun. We're proud to create an experience that connects our past, present and future while strengthening Salem State’s ties to the surrounding community."

Proceeds will support resources, opportunities and the continued growth of the university's athletics program.

"Events like this create lasting memories while making a real difference for our programs," said Nicky Wood, director of athletics at Salem State. “Support generated through this game helps enhance the student-athlete experience and provides important resources that allow our programs to succeed."

General admission tickets are $15, with Salem State students eligible to purchase tickets at the door for $10 with a valid student ID.

A limited number of post-event tickets are available for $50 and include access to a private reception with Bruins alumni players. Free parking will be available at the O'Keefe Sports Complex, 225 Canal St., Salem.

Tickets may be purchased through the Salem State University website.
