Salem Student Art Exhibit At Old Town Hall

Art from Salem students will be displayed at Old Town Hall next weekend.

SALEM, MA – Art by students from different schools in Salem will be on display at Old Town Hall from Friday, April 28, to Sunday, April 30 for Art Speaks.

More than 130 pieces of art have been selected by teachers throughout the year from Bates, Carlton, Horace Mann, Bowditch, Saltonstall and Witchcraft Heights Elementary schools, Collins Middle School, and Salem High and New Liberty.

Judges from the community will select works to by which hang a judge's ribbon. Judges include Mayor Kim Driscoll, Superintendent Margarita Ruiz, Dorothy Arthur from North Shore Art Teacher's Association, Gavin Andrews from the Peabody Essex Museum, Deborah Greel Salem's Public Art Planner, Ana Nuncio from the Latino Coalition, Jill Pabich a local Salem artist, Racket Shreve a local Salem artist and John Andrews from Creative Salem.

The event is free to the public. The opening reception is from 6 to 8 p.m. on April 28, and the award ceremony will be at 7 p.m. The exhibit will be open from 12 to 6 p.m. on April 29, and from 1 to 3 p.m. on April 30.
