Salem Students Honored At Clark, Hofstra, Holy Cross, SNHU, Tufts

SALEM, MA — These Salem students were among those recently earning academic or athletic distinctions at colleges, universities and schools across the nation.

Beatriz Bittar, Nelio DosSantos, Zachary Banks, Rose Marcrum, Witold Matczak, Isabela Mesa, Shakira Garcia, Javaneh Mikhak, Christian Silva, Sylvia Louf and Nichole Perez were named to the President's List at Southern New Hampshire University for the spring semester.

Vicky Malvitch and Wayne Tremblay were named to the SNHU Dean's List.

Carlene Choinski was recently elected to membership into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society, at Salem State University.
Choinski is among approximately 20,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni to be initiated into Phi Kappa Phi each year.

Luiz da Costa was also recently elected to membership into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society, at Salem State University.

Devyn Verruto and Megan O'Shea were elected to Phi Kappa Phi at Salem State, and Elizabeth Lima was elected at Framingham State University.

Shaely Lora-Brito was elected to Phi Kappa Phi at the University of Massachusetts, and Yiling Hu was elected at Salem State.

Emerson College student Lily Brown was inducted into the Purple Key Leadership Society for the 2024-2025 academic year. The inductees are recognized at the annual Emerson Recognition & Achievement (ERA) Awards ceremony on April 18, as well as in the 2025 commencement program at the college's graduation ceremony. Brown is majoring in journalism.

Elizabeth Swanson was named to the College of the Holy Cross fall 2024 Dean's List.

Rosella Madigan, Alex L'heureux, Emily Dodge, Kaleigh Dominguez, Carlos Campos and Sophia Trindade were named to the Dean's List at Emmanuel College.

Keanu Prescod was named to the Dean's List at Tufts University for the fall 2024 semester.

Hofstra University presented its annual Service Week. The program offers students opportunities to participate in community service programs over spring break. Julia Pallazola, a Computer Science & Cybersecurity major, was among the Hofstra students to participate this year.

Harper Cutler was named to second honors on the Clark University Dean's List. This selection marks outstanding academic achievement during the fall 2024 semester.

Jessica Tocci has been named to the Dean's List at James Madison University for the fall 2024 semester. Tocci is majoring in Psychology - BA.

Anna Coughlin earned Dean's List honors at the University of Tampa for the fall 2024 semester. Coughlin is a senior majoring in Education-Elementary (K-6) BS. Students must maintain a GPA of 3.75 or higher to be eligible for the dean's list.

The University of Rhode Island said Patrick Boardway, Sophia Meechin, Kevin Rush and Avery Swiniarski were named to the University of Rhode Island Dean's List for the fall semester.

Kirsten New was named to the Dean's List for the fall 2024 term at the University of Maryland Global Campus.

Rem Valatka was named to the Champlain College Dean's List for the fall 2024 semester. Valatka is currently majoring in filmmaking.
