Salem Takes a Stand Against Violence Toward Women
Salem City Hall will raise a white ribbon flag on March 1 to invite men to stand up against violence toward women.

SALEM, MA – City Hall will raise the white ribbon flag on March 1 to invite men to speak out against violence toward women. The initiative is part of the 10th annual White Ribbon Day, a worldwide movement to get men involved in condemning violence against women.
The campaign seeks to find ways to prevent violence against women and all gender-based violence. Jane Doe Inc. sponsors the statewide campaign.
"By participating in the Raise a Flag to Raise Awareness initiative, the men and boys of the City of Salem can show they do not tolerate or condone men’s violence towards women, men, or children," said Mayor Kim Driscoll in a press release.
