SALEM, MA — Massachusetts has a storied tradition of military service, with countless individuals dedicating their lives to protecting our nation. While words can't fully capture the immense gratitude we feel for our servicemen and women, Patch has partnered with T-Mobile to highlight a few remarkable veterans and active-duty military members from our state.

Tell us about the military hero and what your community should know about them.

Steve joined the Army after SPC Jared Raymond from Swampscott was KIA in Iraq. Steve was injured when a suicide bomber in a dump truck hit his combat outpost. He had 2 major surgeries at Walter/Reed, which included reconstruction of his bladder and a spinal cord surgery. He was awarded the Purple Heart for his injuries sustained in Afghanistan.
