Salem Victim Found Injured, Gun Recovered After Reports of 'Shots Fired'

SALEM, MA — A man was found suffering from what were described as non-life-threatening injuries after police responded to reports of "shots fired" in the area of 12 Pope Street on Friday night.

Salem police said a gun was recovered and that they encountered the injured man during their investigation.

Police did not reveal the nature of the person's injuries or what crimes were being investigated.

"The police department is thankful for the cooperation of nearby residents and regrets any inconvenience that the investigation may have caused," police said.
