Walk For HAWC Raises Domestic Violence Awareness
The annual walk takes place in Salem on April 24.
Salem, MA - For more than 20 years, the Walk for HAWC has been a staple event in the North Shore community, bringing together hundreds of people who care about raising domestic violence awareness and supporting HAWC's programs.
After 30 years as “Help for Abused Women and their Children,” HAWC chose to change its name to “Healing Abuse Working for Change.” The new name aligned with their commitment to serve all individuals affected by domestic abuse. There has been dramatic growth with HAWC’s services over the last 30 years, expanding language capacity, cultural diversity, and services to the LGBTQ community.
Over the years, the event has coined the phrase: It’s our community. It’s our responsibility.
