In recognition of Veteran's Day, Apollo Safety, Inc., a small veteran-owned business (SVOB) providing gas detection products and services to organizations throughout New England, is renewing their commitment to provide more opportunities for veterans. The company pledges to interview at least two veterans for positions at Apollo Safety by the end of 2017.
John V. Carvalho III, president of Apollo Safety, Inc., is a U.S. Army veteran who understands the struggles of returning veterans and their families. Carvalho is encouraging local businesses to join them in their pledge to interview and/or hire veterans for positions open within their companies.
According to Carvalho, “Veterans often receive years of technical training during their service, which makes them ideal candidates in many different business fields. I believe it is our duty to assist veterans who are readjusting to civilian life by providing essential re-entry opportunities, along with guidance and feedback during the interview process.”
Apollo Safety is now hiring Service Technicians for the Boston, and Providence, Rhode Island areas and military veterans are encouraged to apply. Among a number of functions, Apollo Safety Service Technicians are responsible for performing/providing calibration, repair, installation, troubleshooting and documentation of instruments, process control systems and equipment, as well as interpreting electrical schematics, I/O wiring and panel drawings.
Setting the Bar for Training in the Industry
As the leading safety and technical services equipment provider in New England, Apollo Safety sells, installs and maintains a wide variety of portable and stationary gas detection systems, including Honeywell, Industrial Scientific, RAE Systems, RKI, and GMI brands.
Apollo Safety Service Technicians receive training from these manufacturers so they are factory-trained and certified. In addition, Apollo Safety has developed its own proprietary training program, which includes cross training and five levels of certification. This ensures that their service technicians are well equipped and versed in providing the highest level of service safely, efficiently and effectively in all customer environments.
Apollo Safety salaries are competitive, with health benefits available for full-time staff.
