New Bedford Man Killed In Fire
A New Bedford fire claimed the life of Jackson Leahy, 21, officials said.

NEW BEDFORD, MA — A New Bedford man was killed in a fire Wednesday morning. The victim was identified as Jackson Leahy, 21, according to Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn.
The fire broke out at a Potter Street residence at about 7 a.m. The blaze was caused by the "improper disposal of smoking materials," Quinn said in a statement. Five others were inside the home and escaped unharmed.
