Carlene M. Tavares, 63, of Swansea, passed away Friday, May 10, 2013.

She was the fiancée of the late Gary McMullen.

She was born in Fall River, daughter of the late James E. and Margaret P. (Fectaeu) Connors.

Carlene was a district manager for Olan Mills Portraits. She was a parishioner of St. Thomas More Church in Somerset, an avid shopper, gambler and had an eye for fashion. She belonged to the Powder Puff Derby Racer at Seekonk Speedway and was a member of the CB Radio Club.

She leaves her five daughters Michele August of Fall River, Dawn August of Swansea, Kristy August Lopes of Somerset, Tracy Tavares of Fall River and Lisa August Pacheco of Fall River; her sister Joan Simmons of Somerset; her eight grandchildren Heidi, Megan, Ashlee, Codie, Brenda, Cameron, Marissa and Alex; as well as several nieces and nephews and her dog Chiquita. She was preceded in death by her brothers James Connors and Joseph “Buddy” Davis.
