Obituary: George X. Liebl

George X. Liebl, 90, of Swansea, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2013 at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River.

He was the husband of 68 years to Jean E. (Gadbois) Liebl.

George was born in Brookhaven Long Island, N.Y. the son of the late Francis X. and Hannah (Moodich) Liebl. He served his country during WWII with the United States Navy assigned to a PT boat. Mr. Liebl worked as a machinist for Teknor-Apex in Pawtucket for 37 years retiring in 1985.

George leaves his three daughters Gail Ollerhead and her husband Doug of Warren, R.I., Donna Liebl of Shelburne Falls and Susan Dunn and her husband Robert of Lakeville; her five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; his brother Daniel Liebl of Hadley, N.Y.; and his several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son George-Ann Liebl and his siblings William, John, and Raymond Liebl.

Funeral will be held Tuesday, May 21 10 a.m. to noon, followed by a prayer service and military honors at noon in the Hathaway Community Home for Funerals, 900 Buffinton St., Somerset. Relatives and friends are invited to attend, burial will be private at the request of the family.
