Obituary: Irene Chandler

Irene Chandler, 87, of Brooksville, Fla., formerly of Seekonk, passed away Sept. 16, 2013 in Maples Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Wrentham.  

She was wife of Edward J. Chandler for over 58 years.

Born May 21, 1926 in West Nanticoke, Penn., she was a daughter of the late George and Bertha (Knorek) Stopa.

Irene grew up and graduated high school in Pennsylvania. She has been a resident of Brooksville for the past 25 years and was previously a resident of Seekonk for over 20 years. Irene and her husband have spent the past several summers in Plainville.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her two sons Mark and his wife Susan Chandler of North Attleboro and Peter Chandler and his wife Deirdre O'Connor of Northborough; and her four grandchildren Michael, Jeffrey, Brenna and Samuel.

Relatives and friends are invited to a funeral Mass on Saturday, Oct. 5 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Martha's Church, 227 South Street, Plainville. Burial will be held privately at a later date.
