William A. Theriault, 71, of Fairhaven, formerly of Swansea, passed away Sept. 20, 2013 in Charlton Memorial Hospital.
He was the husband of Arlene R. (Viera) Theriault with whom he shared 10 years of marriage.
Born in Fall River, a son of the late Joseph E. and Elizabeth (Ward) Theriault, he lived in Swansea prior to moving to Fairhaven.
A graduate of Joseph Case High School, Class of 1960 and Fitchburg State College, Class of 1990, he was a veteran of the United States Navy. Mr. Theriault was a teacher at New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School for 30 years and also was a 40 year member of Local 51 before retiring in 2000.
An avid golfer, he belonged to the Touisset Country Club.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son Michael Theriault of Jacksonville, Fla.; his daughter Stephanie Stockman of Northborough; his sister; his two brothers; and eight grandchildren.
A prayer service and military honors will be held Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at 5 p.m. at the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. Visiting hours will follow from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Burial will be private.
