Seekonk Cop Pointed Gun At Woman's Head: Report

Seekonk Police Officer Gary Rushing was charged with domestic violence after prosecutors said he strangled and threatened a woman.

ATTLEBORO, MA — A Seekonk police officer arrested last week on domestic violence charges strangled a woman and reportedly put a gun to her head, according to authorities. Gary Rushing, 38, was arraigned this week on a host of charges. He has been with the Seekonk Police Department for 2 years and was placed on leave following his arrest.

Rushing is accused of assaulting the victim in Seekonk and Attleboro, according to WPRI. The victim told authorities Rushing strangled her to the point of unconsciousness on one occasion and on another occasion pointed a gun at her head and pulled the trigger, the news station reported. The woman said the gun was not loaded but she did not know that at the time, according to WPRI.

Rushing's lawyer told WPRI his client denies the woman's allegations.
