Seekonk Marijuana Operation Busted: Police
Seekonk police said Jeffrey Hanenkrat was charged with running a marijuana processing operation on County Street.

SEEKONK, MA — A recent report of a suspicious person at a Seekonk residence turned up an illegal marijuana operation, according to police. Jeffrey Hanenkrat, 32, of Seekonk, was arrested and charged with manufacturing/distributing marijuana.
Seekonk police Chief Craig Mace said on February 26, officers received a report of a suspicious person near a County Street residence.
"Officers did not find the suspicious person, but did find an open window to an apartment," Mace said in a statement. "On the chance a person had illegally entered the apartment, a police canine was deployed through the window. The canine did not locate anybody in the apartment."

Mace continued, "The canine's handler entered the window to retrieve the dog. In doing so, they officer saw items in the apartment that appeared to be used for processing marijuana."
Police obtained a search warrant and seized marijuana processing materials, Mace said.

Hanenkrat turned himself in on a warrant last week. He was booked and transported to Taunton District Court for an arraignment.
