SEEKONK, MA — A Seekonk police officer was arrested Friday and charged with domestic violence, authorities announced Monday. Gary Rushing, 38, allegedly strangled and assaulted an individual, according to the Bristol County District Attorney's Office.
Rushing was arraigned in Taunton District Court Monday and released on personal recognizance bond. He was ordered to refrain from contacting the alleged victim and surrender his firearms.
Rushing was hired by Seekonk police in 2016. He was placed on leave following his arrest, Seekonk Police Chief Craig Mace said Monday.
