Seekonk Worker Killed In Wynn Casino Mishap

EVERETT, MA — A construction worker killed at the construction site of a new Wynn casino in Everett on Tuesday was reportedly identified as a Seekonk man. Joe Teixeira, 56, was operating an excavator in a trench when something went wrong, officials said. Teixeira worked for Brockton-based subcontractor J. Derenzo Companies, according to the Boston Globe.

A construction worker died from injuries he sustained at the Wynn Boston Harbor site Tuesday afternoon.

"This is a very sad day for everyone at Wynn Boston Harbor," a Wynn spokesperson said in a statement. "Our deepest condolences and heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to his family and coworkers."
