SEEKONK, MA — A downed utility pole on County Street kept the Seekonk street closed throughout Tuesday morning into early afternoon. The road was closed at Olin Avenue as crews worked to replace the pole.

A detour was in place from Chappell Street to East Avenue routing around the closure. Seekonk police said National Grid was on scene Tuesday morning. The road was reopened about an hour ahead of schedule at about 1 p.m. after being closed approximately five hours.
