The candidates were selected by the Superintendent Search Committee from 10 candidates interviewed. Thirteen candidates had initially expressed interest, but three withdrew before their interviews to accept positions in other districts.
The search committee included representatives of elected boards, the school department and the general public.
School Committee members will now conduct site visits in the school districts of each candidate. This will be followed by site visits to Grafton by all candidates, who will then be interviewed by the School Committee.
The new superintendent will replace current Grafton Superintendent Joseph Connors, who is retiring at the end of the school year.
