Boston Celtics Honor Shrewsbury Teen For Coronavirus Work
Anika Sukthankar was honored by the Boston Celtics for her efforts delivering food to testing tent workers.
SHREWSBURY, MA — The Boston Celtics honored a Shrewsbury teen for her work to help coronavirus testing tent volunteers. Anika Sukthankar, 15 from Shrewsbury, was nominated as a 'Hero Among Us.'
Sukthankar saw that front-line workers in local hospitals were receiving food donations from many places, but realized that another important group of heroes were overlooked. With the donations from Shrewsbury and Worcester residents, every Wednesday and Friday since March, Sukthankar delivered food to the COVID-19 testing tent-workers in Southborough and Auburn so they can continue to do the important work to keep her neighbors safe.
Those tents are operated by Reliant Medical Group.
