Man Sinking In Mud Rescued From Shrewsbury's Flint Pond
The man was up to his neck in mud when police arrived and pulled him out of the muck.

SHREWSBURY, MA — A local man was nearly consumed by a local pond Monday, but police arrived just in time to pull him from the muck.
According to Shrewsbury police, officers arrived at the boat ramp into Flint Pond off Route 20 just after 11:30 a.m. Monday after getting a call about a man drowning in the mud.
Shrewsbury officer Alex Desimone entered the water equipped with a ResQ Disc device. About 35 feet from shore, Desimone threw the disc to the drowning man. Desimone and three other officers then pulled the man to shore.

The victim, who was up to his neck in the water when police arrived, was evaluated at the scene, but did not need further medical care, the department reported.
Flint Pond is located on the south side of Route 20 from Lake Quinsigamond.
