Several Shrewsbury Streets See Discolored Water

Town officials said residents should try stop using the water for an hour, and then try again if they see discolored water.

SHREWSBURY, MA — Shrewsbury's Water and Sewer Division received several reports of discolored water and are working to identify the cause. They believe it was from the unauthorized use of a hydrant.

The areas where discolored water has occurred include:

  • Old Mill Road
  • Maple Avenue
  • Harriet Avenue
  • Dawson Circle

Anyone experiencing discolored water should try stop using the water for an hour, and then try again. While discolored water is present, the town told residents to refrain from using hot water and flush cold water using a downstairs bathtub or outside faucet.
