Shrewsbury Coronavirus: 3 New Cases Reported Tuesday

The town said public health officials will notify anyone who has potentially been exposed to the virus.

SHREWSBURY, MA — Three additional cases of the new coronavirus were reported in Shrewsbury on Tuesday, bringing the town's total to 232.

Residents hoping to learn more about COVID-19 in the Shrewsbury community can reach an information line at 508-799-1019. Residents can also email officials at Health@worcesterma.gov and will receive a response within one to two business days.

In a release, the town said residents who have potentially been exposed to another person with the new coronavirus will be contacted by the Central Massachusetts Regional Public HealthAlliance (CMRPHA).

Gov. Charlie Baker earlier this week announced he is rolling out a four-part plan to reopen the state's economy, but specific details remain vague.

Baker said businesses set to open in the first phase will be ones that "don't have a lot of face-to-face interaction with customers as part of their regular business."

May 18 is when the stay-at-home advisory and closure of nonessential businesses expire. It's also when the state's reopening advisory board will issue a report detailing what is hoped to be a safe reopening of the economy.
