Shrewsbury Students Intern With State Rep. Hannah Kane

The students from Shrewsbury and St. John's high schools concluded their internships on Monday.

SHREWSBURY, MA — State Representative Hannah Kane, (R-Shrewsbury), was pleased to host two Shrewsbury residents as interns in her office at the State House this summer. Representative Kane welcomed Shrewsbury residents Rohil Mohan and Vishnu Angiras as interns this summer.

Rohil Mohan is a rising senior at Saint John’s High School, interested in healthcare and healthcare policy. At Saint John’s, Rohil serves as president of the HOSA - Future Health Professionals Club, Secretary-General of the Model UN, and captain of the Quiz Bowl team, in addition to playing varsity tennis. Rohil also serves as a researcher at a local biotech company and volunteers with several Worcester hospitals.

“This has been an incredible learning experience in the heart of state government” stated Rohil, reflecting on his time at the State House.

Vishnu Angiras is a rising senior at Shrewsbury High School, interested in climate and energy policy. Outside of the classroom, Vishnu competes as a captain of the varsity swim team and a captain of the Speech and Debate Team. He writes for the school newspaper, the Town Crier, and volunteers to assist middle school students with their science fair projects. Additionally, Vishnu conducts aeronautic research at MIT.

“I’m excited for this opportunity and look forward to continuing learning about the legislative process” said Vishnu on his time interning for Representative Kane.

“It has been a true pleasure for me to host Rohil and Vishnu at the State House this summer,” stated Representative Kane (R-Shrewsbury). “These young leaders and scholars have been an asset to our office and represented our district incredibly well. I am eager to witness their continued contributions to our community and future successes in their many endeavors”.

Each summer, Representative Kane invites passionate and engaged young leaders of the Eleventh Worcester District to intern on Beacon Hill. Each intern attends the House of Representatives Intern Speaker Series, which provides interns with unique exposure to state

government’s processes and a diverse array of stakeholders. Representative Kane’s interns conduct policy research and analysis of legislation, as well as attend numerous briefings on policy issues and current events on behalf of the office. In addition, interns monitor news developments and summarize updates on local and regional areas of interest.

Summer interns for Representative Kane serve until the conclusion of Session July 31st, when summer recess begins. Representative Kane welcomes a limited number of high school and college-aged interns each summer.
