Shrewsbury Woman Throws Out First Pitch At WooSox Game

She was honored for 45 years of service at a local hospital.

SHREWSBURY, MA — A woman from Shrewsbury was recognized for her many years of service at a hospital in Milford.

Maureen Corron got the chance to throw out the first pitch at a Worcester Red Sox Game on July 20, along with Blackstone resident Kathleen Melanson. The two have worked at UMass Memorial Health – Milford Regional for 45 years, according to a news release.

Corron works as a technologist in diagnostic imaging. She said she was inspired by family members working in healthcare to follow the same path and began working at Milford Regional after graduating from Quinsigamond Community College in Worcester.

“Maureen and Kathleen exemplify what makes Milford Regional special,” said Edward J. Kelly, the hospital’s president. “Our patients and community benefit from all our wonderfully talented and compassionate caregivers.”
