Truck Driver Flees From Shrewsbury PD: Chase Results In Crash
A Boston man with several outstanding warrants between New Hampshire and Massachusetts was charged after he led officers on a chase.

SHREWSBURY, MA - The Shrewsbury Police Department (SPD) announced a moving van driver was detained after he led officers on a chase through the town.
Roughly an hour after midnight on April 4, a Shrewsbury officer saw a moving truck parked in the CVS lot at 197 Boston Tpke. The driver appeared to be slumped over in the front seat of the vehicle. According to the news release, he exhibited signs of impairment.
The operator suddenly put the vehicle into drive and sped off. A pursuit followed, and the responding officer followed the suspect onto Harrington Avenue Northbound. Soon after, the truck crashed into a rock wall and guard rail at the corner of Old Mill Road and Harrington Avenue.

After getting out of the truck, the driver was reportedly noncompliant and resisted arrest. He was eventually placed into custody, and upon searching his truck officers found video game consoles, laptops, tires, a lawnmower and clothing items. All of them are believed to have been stolen.
The driver was identified as Edward Alexander, 59, of Boston. He had four outstanding warrants for arrest in Massachusetts and one from New Hampshire. Alexander was charged with the following:
