Roommate Hit By Drunk Driver, Failure to Signal Arrest
The following information was provided by the Shrewsbury Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction.

Monday, Feb. 25
9:38 a.m.: The Animal Control Officer retrieved two chocolate labs that were running loose on Route 9 near Lake Street.
4:10 p.m.: An officer stopped a vehicle on Hartford Turnpike and arrested Anthony Vangel, 22, of 101 Endicott St., Apt. 3, Worcester. Vangel was charged with unlicensed operation, speeding and failure to signal.

10:23 p.m.: A cab driver at CVS Pharmacy reported that a female pickup tried to scam him with a credit card. An officer responded and spoke to everyone involved.
11:12 p.m.: The Shrewsbury Fire Department responded to a smoke alarm activation on South Quinsigamond.

Tuesday, Feb. 26
3:03 p.m.: An officer stood by while children were transferred off a diasbaled school bus on Elm Street and on to a working bus.
9:50 p.m.: A caller reported that her roommate had attempted to assault her. An officer took a report and then arrestedJorge Rodriques, 53, of 259 Southwest Cutoff Rd., Worcester after he allegedly hit his roommate with his car. Rodriques was arrested and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, drunken-driving, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and malicious destruction of property.
