Bronwyn to Open, Rosebud to Close in Mid May

May will see an anticipated restaurant opening and a changing of the guard at a Davis Square landmark, according to a local food website.

The middle of May will bring some important restaurant happenings to Somerville, according to Boston Eater.

The food website says Bronwyn, a highly anticipated new restaurant in Union Square from the owners of Cambridge's T.W. Food, could open as early as May 13.

The restaurant will feature food from the area around Germany and Austria. We're talking sausages, pretzels and a killer beer list.

Boston Eater said May 13 would be the earliest date Bronwyn would open, but sometime in mid May is likely. It also pointed readers to a cool photo of the restaurant's interior on Bronwyn's Facebook page.

On the other side of Somerville, May 12 will be the last day Davis Square's Rosebud will be open, Boston Eater says. May 12 is Mother's Day.

Restaurateur Marty Bloom, who founded Vinny Testa's and owns Mission Oak Grill in Newburyport, said in January he had plans to buy and update the restaurant while leaving the historic diner's exterior untouched.
