1) Film Screening: "Girls Rising"
From the listing: "Girl Rising is a groundbreaking film, directed by Academy Award nominee Richard Robbins, which tells the stories of 9 extraordinary girls from 9 countries, written by 9 celebrated writers and narrated by 9 renowned actresses. Girl Rising showcases the strength of the human spirit and the power of education to change the world." It's at 7:30 p.m. at Somerville Theatre.

2) Somerville Spring Clean Logo Contest Deadline
The deadline to enter the "Somerville Spring Clean" logo competition is today. The winning logo designer will get a $200 stipend. More here.

3) Somerville Students Get Scholarships
CPCU Credit Union awared four $1,000 scholarships to local students and two of the recipients—Andre Fernandes and Paula Ferreira—were from Somerville. Congratulations.

4) Somerville Students Win Poster Design Contest
On Thursday, representatives from Somerville High School attended an award ceremony with Middlesex District Attorney Gerry Leone, according to an announcement from the district attorney's office. Students at the school created a poster about the teen violence and domestic violence, and their poster was one of five in the county to win an award.
