Independent Film Festival Boston Begins Wednesday

The Somerville Theatre, along with other venues in Boston, will play host to the 11th annual Independent Film Festival Boston from April 24 to April 30.

Most of the 99 films featured at the festival will be screened in Somerville, and this year Casey Affleck has been brought on as creative director of the festival.

It will feature a number of world premieres, including "Willow Creek," directed by Bobcat Goldthwait, and "Best Kept Secret," directed by Samantha Buck.

The two directors, along with others, will attend the festival, which includes several panel discussions with filmmakers.

Speaking of filmmakers, lots of them will be in Somerville for a series of parties, beginning Wednesday with an opening night party at Orleans.
