Obituary: Orazio S. 'Raz' Coco, 29, Formerly of Somerville

“Orazio S. “Raz” Coco, a 2 year resident of Fleming Island, Florida and formerly of Somerville, entered into eternal life suddenly on Tuesday, April 28, 2015. He was 29 years old.

“Raz was born in Boston on January 9, 1986, a son of Orazio “Raz” Coco and Denise (Powers) Coco. He grew up in Somerville where he was educated at St. Clements Parochial School and graduated from Matignon High School in Cambridge in 2004.

“Raz enlisted into the United States Navy on July 9, 2008 and served his country with honor and pride during Iraqi Freedom. He was discharged on December 28, 2012 with the rank of AZ3. Raz had been working for Home Depot in the Jacksonville area of Florida.

“Raz is the beloved son of Orazio “Raz” Coco and Denise (Powers) Coco of Somerville. He is the devoted brother of Kristyn Coco of Somerville, Zachary Coco of Somerville and Brandon Coco of Somerville. He is the loving uncle to Michael. He is the loving Grandson of Providenza Coco of Somerville and the late Carol and Frank Powers of Charlestown. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

“Relatives and friends are invited to attend Raz’s Funeral on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. Visiting hours will be on Monday, May 4, 2015 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.”
