Somerville Bread Company Eyes Permanent Home

The Somerville Bread Company has applied for a special permit to open a permanent bakery on Medford Street in Somerville, according to the city’s planning office.

Nick Robertson, the company’s owner, has applied to move into the vacant space located at 415b Medford Street near Magoun Square. Ilda’s Antiques and Collectibles previously occupied the space.

If approved, Robertson’s plans would include a kitchen, retail space, a cooler, a bread oven and multiple tables, a site proposal revealed.

The company is known for its organic breads and bagels. They utilize locally sourced ingredients and have sold their products at area farmers’ markets.
