Somerville Brewing Company Is Closing

The brewery behind the Slumbrew brand announced it's shutting down after filing for bankruptcy last fall.

SOMERVILLE, MA — Somerville Brewing Company is calling it quits, months after filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

"Thank you for the good times, great conversations and celebrating the many special moments of your lives with us," a statement on the company's Facebook page reads. "Thank you to the hundreds of staff that have served our guests, opened and closed our doors day after day."

The company, which sells the Slumbrew brand, has a brewery and taproom on Ward Street and a brewhouse at Assembly Row. It also ran a seasonal beer garden at the Row for years before opening a brick-and-mortar location.
