Somerville Drops Heatbreaker to Greater Lawrence in Season Opener

The Somerville Highlanders battled right to the final whistle Friday night, ultimately dropping their season opener to the Greater Lawrence Reggies, 46-40.

Late in the fourth quarter, the Reggies snapped a 40-to-40 tie, scoring a touchdown with just 25 seconds remaining in the game.

The Highlanders were unable to respond, falling to 0-1 on the new season.

Somerville will look to avenge the heartbreaking defeat on Friday, September 18, in a game against the Peabody Tanners.
