Somerville Police Respond To 8 Breaking & Enterings In One Week
The incidents took place from Tuesday, Nov. 8 through Monday, Nov. 14.

SOMERVILLE, MA —Somerville police responded to 8 breaking and entering incidents in one week, according to the department’s latest crime log.
The incidents took place from Tuesday, Nov. 8 through Monday, Nov. 14. Two happened at commercial properties and the rest at residential buildings.

Commercial Breaking & Entering
On 11/9/22 at approximately 10:32 AM, Somerville Police responded to a business in the area of Broadway & Indiana Ave for a past breaking and entering. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the owner who stated the rear door had been forced open and the store was rummaged through. Jewelry and cash were stolen.

Commercial Breaking & Entering
On 11/9/22 at approximately 9:58 AM, Somerville Police responded to a business on Medford St for report of a past breaking and entering. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the owner who stated the front door had been pried open and cash was stolen.
Residential Breaking & Entering
On 11/9/22 at approximately 7:56 PM, Somerville Police responded to a residence in the area of Broadway & Packard Ave for report of a past breaking and entering. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim who stated someone broke into his garage and stole items out of his scooter bag.
Residential Breaking & Entering
On 11/10/22 at approximately 10:10 AM, Somerville Police responded to an apartment complex on McGrath Hwy for report of a past breaking and entering. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the superintendent of the building who stated a male party forced entry into the building then proceeded to the garage where he opened the garage door. A U-Haul truck entered and a female party exited. Both parties then began loading the truck up with stolen items.
Residential Breaking & Entering
On 11/7/22 at approximately 11:16 AM, Somerville Police responded to an apartment complex on McGrath Hwy for report of a past breaking and entering. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the property manager who stated two male parties broke into the common area and stole several packages.

On 11/10/22 at approximately 6:31 PM, Somerville Police responded to an apartment complex on Canal Lane for report of a past breaking and entering. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim who stated she left her apartment and when she returned, her laptop was stolen.

On 11/14/22 at approximately 12:38 PM, Somerville Police responded to a residence on Sewall St for report of a past breaking and entering. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim who noticed her bedroom door was open and medication was missing.
Residential Breaking & Entering
On 11/12/22 at approximately 9:58 AM, Somerville Police responded to a residence on Jay St for report of a past breaking and entering. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim who stated on 11/10/22, she observed her basement door open, nothing was reported missing.
Other crimes reported in the past week in Somerville include an assault, a robbery, four bike thefts, two catalytic converter thefts, three car breaks, two motor vehicle vandalisms, and a package theft, police said.
