Somerville Ranked One Of Top 50 Best Places To Live In The U.S.

SOMERVILLE, MA — Somerville has been ranked one of the top 50 Best Places to Live in the U.S., according to a new ranking by the online financial magazine “Money.”

The city ranked seventh on Money’s 2022-2023 list and is just one of two Massachusetts communities that made the list. The other is Milton, ranking at number 17.

Money cites Somerville’s music and culture, proximity to Boston and great public transportation, low crime rates, and well-rated school district and higher education institutions as the reasons for the high rating.

“For residents, Somerville offers more than just a wide array of activities,” the magazine said. "The town claims some of the most affordable home prices in the area, its school district is well-rated, and according to the crime and safety experts at Safewise, it’s actually one of the safest cities in the country - No. 40, to be exact.”
