Somerville Seeking Residents To Help Name Public Landmarks

The city has two resident openings on its new Memorialization Committee, which will name public assets like buildings, streets and parks.

SOMERVILLE, MA – The city is seeking two residents for its newly formed Memorialization Committee, which will name public assets like buildings, streets and parks. The Committee will also develop policies and procedures to follow when choosing names.

Meetings could begin as early as this summer. The Committee will meet as needed to name a landmark.

Appointees will serve a two-year term and must be confirmed by the City Council. If you are interested in applying, please send a statement of interest to memorial@somervillema.gov by Sunday, June 28.
